  • Strangers in our midst

It is hard watching my Dad deteriorate almost day by day, so that this once dominating and very powerful man is now so dishevelled, and almost incoherent with mumblings and ramblings. Yet this person who can barely hold a conversation is still classed as well enough to be in charge of his own actions, and allowed to drive a vehicle! He doesn't eat or sleep and is very easily aggravated. Depression is such a serious illness, and he should have sought help so long ago. So many immediate family members can be affected, yet to outsiders he can appear to be so well. He can threaten my life one minute, yet sit quietly chatting to others the next. He has often said I do not understand him, and I now agree wholeheartedly; this man who I have known the longest in time has always been a stranger to me.

Hi Tracey sorry to hear of your dads deterioration and it is immensely challenging for all to deal with as you say.  Not to many other words to say here, but thinking of you and hope other life and work "stuff" is going well.

    Cheers Colleen
